Letter to Teachers - Fall 2003

Dear Friends,

Welcome back to school! We hope the long vacation was both enjoyable and relaxing. You hold in your hands our Calendar of Children’s Events for Fall 2003. And what a season it is! From Caldecott Medallist Eric Rohmann to international bestseller Celia Rees, from debuts Christopher Paolini and Jonathan Stroud, to local favorites Sarah Wilson and Susan Elya, it’s all here – one of the best seasons we have every offered. For the almost two thousand schoolchildren who will visit Rakestraw Books this season, these talented men and women will instruct and amuse, inspire and educate.

Our first order of business is to thank everyone who helped make last year’s programs such a success. With your support, we know this year will be even better!

For this season, we will begin to take reservations on Wednesday, 27 August and continue taking them as long as there is space available. Anybody responding by 30 August will have an equal chance in the registration lottery on 1 September. We will announce confirmed reservations on 3 September. Be sure to complete the registration on page two of this newsletter in full – e-mail addresses and home phone numbers are crucial. Incomplete forms may not be processed. Remember that a $15 registration will apply to all attending classes. Prep kits will be available as soon as possible.

To make this newsletter easier to read, we have streamlined our description of each event. If you would like more information about a particular event, author, or book, do not hesitate to contact us by e-mail at rakestraw_books@yahoo.com. We look forward to seeing you soon. Thank you for you support.
